A Brief History of TRAN / LOCK
How it all began....
How it all began....
The idea of the first lock came about when the missus asked me to call in to Sainsbury's for a bag of red onions!
I came out after about 10 mins and the van was gone!
After taking delivery of my next van I paid a visit to an old guy I knew who owned a wrought iron business making gates and fences in an outbuilding at the back of his house.
Design & Build
How it all began....
I showed him an idea that I had and we basically knocked one up together. This went onto my new van and the lock is still in use two decades later.
Over time, mates would ask if I could make one for their vehicles and mates of mates would say the same. The idea turned into a small fledgling business and as most of the vehicles were Ford Transits, the name TRAN / LOCK was born.
Present Day
Various different designs were then requested for different vehicles to add to the original Ford Lock. Our range now includes vehicles from many different manufacturers including small vans to top of the range 4x4 vehicles and trucks. The range is expanding rapidly now to accommodate demand thanks to our reputation and ever increasing cus

We pride ourselves on communication with our customers. If your vehicle is not on our list, contact us to arrange a visit to our workshop and we can make one for it. We will need your vehicle for the morning in order to take measurements and provide an initial design for fabrication.
